Elstree production team on set during filming in January 2001. The show, which is fast becoming cult viewing on late-night TV in the UK, was originally commissioned by Channel 4 and shot on Digital Betacam in 16:9 widescreen format.

BENNS (above), has been Cameraman Sebastian Knight, getting handheld and dirty with Davina the Cat, during filming of episode 23 Drugs.
Senior puppeteer and creature designer Iestyn Evans makes a few last-minute adjustments to Hamish during shooting of episode 22 Business.
Pre-recording the voices at Elstree. Sound recordist Tudor Davies "puts a bit more top" into the golden tones of Hamish.

Pets was created by BRIAN WEST and ANDREW BARCLAY (above) who also wrote and produced the series. The pair first worked together at the Edinburgh Festival and recently won a TV promotions "Oscar" for a commercial for "The Jerry Springer Show". Barclay & West's other writing credits include Simon Pegg's sketch show for Channel 5 We Know Where You Live, The Hypnotic World of Paul McKenna and ITV's Russ Abbott Show.
Pets Script Supervisor Julie "It'll never cut" Church-Benns (above) has worked on some of the biggest comedy shows in the business, at both ITV and the BBC. She has just completed filming the new series of Armstrong & Miller for Channel Four.

MIKE STEPHENS (above) directed all 26 episodes of Pets. Mike's previous credits include classic BBC sitcoms The Brittas Empire, 'Allo 'Allo and Hi-De-Hi.
